How does Wotson Online help shoppers?
The site provides shoppers with at least 3 ways of locating a shop, product or service they are seeking. You can use the search box on the right hand side of the homepage. You can look through the Business Index (listed in the menu down the left-hand side of the page). In the brief summary of each business you may find what you need. You may have visited a shop or restaurant in the past but can't remember its name. The picture which accompanies each business may help you identify the place you're looking for. You can browse the Business Showcases (listed in the menu down the left-hand side of the page) where you may find a picture of the very product you want. Because of the wealth of pictures our site is an excellent way to window-shop in comfort. Some of our clients even have on-line catalogues.

Small businesses are becoming increasingly aware of the importance of having a website to make information about them available to a much wider market and in a convenient medium for their regular customers. Many of our clients feel their webpage on our site provides all the online promotion they need. Some ask us to help them purchase a domain name with is then pointed to their showcase webpage. | How does the Wotson Pocket Guide help businesses? |
The Pocket Guide enables residents, visitors and workers to the area a portable visual presentation of your business. Businesses are presented in alphabetical order in 6 sections as in the Business Index. Because it is small - A6, a quarter of the size of a standard magazine, and attractive, in full colour and showing a picture, usually the exterior, of each business, it is more likely to be retained by members of the public rather than treated as junk mail - the usual fate of fliers and cards. This means that your business in kept in the public eye, and pocket or bag, for the duration, and beyond, of each issue. The Pocket Guide also directs users to the Wotson website where they will be able to find much more information and pictures or your business. It also promotes your website, if you have one, so that readers can go straight there.

Wotson was founded in February 2000 as a free Internet search directory for local shops and businesses. In January 2003 the first edition of The Wotson Pocket Guide covering Crouch End, Muswell Hill and Highgate was trialled. At the end of 2003 the first edition for Knightsbridge, Kensington and Chelsea was distributed and proved popular with hotels in the area. The Autumn/Winter 2005/2006 launched the online shopping catalogues Wotson had been developing for businesses that wanted to give customers, local and further afield, the option of browsing via the internet and having a delivery or mail-order service. Finally, this year has seen the development of this new website which allows far more interaction, allowing you to post events, add your business to the business index, contribute articles and both offer and seek help from forums.
