| What is a web site? |
| In simple terms a web site is like a book. The front cover is the first page you come to and is there to invite you to read more. Like a book this page may be attractive and minimal. The back cover of a book is like the 'About Us' section on the web. It tells you what the book contains and why you should use it. If it is interesting, desirable or helpful you will be more likely to read (use) it. The pages of the book make up the contents and it may have an index page called 'Home' page on the web. A web site also consists of many pages. These are the 'web pages', a book has page numbers, a web site will have 'links' from the index page. A 'link' is a specific piece of text or an image that will connect you to another page on the current web site or take you to a different web site away from the one you started with by 'clicking' the link - therefore BE CAREFUL what you are clicking!. These links may be different colours to the normal text, they may change colour when you hover over them with your mouse or touchpad cursor. Sometimes they may be difficult to find if you move your mouse too fast. Wotson 'links' are RED. They change to a bright red when a mouse or touchpad cursor is directly on it. Please let us know if this colour proves hard to see. |
| How do I find the answer quickly? |
| Type a keyword, e.g 'large print', in the 'Search' box on the left of the page and you will go straight to a shortlist of Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) which should answer your question. So you don't have to read through the FAQ list. The results of your search will be listed under the various headings beginning with the FAQ section. There will be able 5 possible sections that might contain the answer to your question. If you think none of these is what you are looking for click on 'Show all results'. If you can't find the answer to your question, please contact us. For our details click on the following word: Contact. |
| Finding the right FAQ section |
| The Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) main sections are in the same order as the items in the menu on the left-hand side of the page. So, for example, if you are looking for FAQs on 'Local Events' it will be listed in the FAQ section between 'Showcase Index' and 'Make Reservations' just as it is in the list on the left-hand side of the page. |
